Default 1996 Avenger - Front Brake Rattle

I have lots of front brake 'rattle' when going over minor bumps...when I apply brakes a little it stops. Brake pads are new, I replaced anti-rattle clips .. no wear on bolts and lubed them properly.. any ideas?? caliper worn or bracket worn? anyone with an idea??

Default brake rattle

these have been checked and were replaced... still have part # stickers on them ... noise goes away as soon as brake pedal is 'touched' a little (not actually braking)

Try this.. with the engine idling, put your car in reverse with your foot pressed down on the brake lever. Let off and roll back about 5 feet a few times. Do you hear the rattlle?

Default noise

No noises present when trying as you suggested...BUT I do notice a slight 'click' if is start slowly ...step on gas a little and back off...then step on gas a little again.. this 'click' goes away if I touch the brake pedal slightly.

I have it booked in for next Wednesday at a local DODGE dealer for inspection as to cause of noise..again.

Default rattle

all are good .. definately something in front end/brakes .. car is low milage and was owned by a middle aged lady. Warranty parts (ball joints/arms) were replaced in 2006 .. and she put less then 15000 km (9000 miles) on the car. When I just barely touch the brake pedal all noise stops

The 'rattle' problem turned out to be both lower 'compression' arms .. the ones with the big bend in them. In Canada each arm was app. $200.00 .. but I purchased at Rock Auto in the USA and they were app. $40.00 each (both parts were DORMAN parts ..) .. I replaced both (less than 1/2 each) and now car is quiet as new .. no more rattles, clunks!
