No start
I have a 1997 ES 2.5 Avenger which I just got back from the mechanic and now the car will not start. When I turn the key the starter does not engage. I just had a new battery installed as my wife was driving the car and got stuck at Sam's Club and they were able to start the car and she was able to get home but now the same problem, nothing when I turn the key. I have plenty of power from the new battery but nothing from the starter. I do have a Viper alarm on the car and I tried to disable it but I am not sure if that is the problem or if the starter just went bad. How can I check to see if the starter is bad?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'd First check the battery and cables ...
Just because the battery is new doesn't mean that it's good! Have the battery tested
After that check the battery cables for corrosion /damage
Third check that the starter is getting voltage , no voltage check solenoid , check that it has power going in on the primary and the "remote" wire when you try to start it
The V6's have a bad habit of "melting" the remote wire as it runs down the back of the motor

I am trying to replace the starter on my 1997 Avenger ES 2.5 and got the bolts out and the battery cable unscrewed on the starter but there is a strange type of connector on the solenoid wire which I do not have a clue how to unclip. Is anyone experienced with something like this? Also, I am trying to pull the exhaust pipe down and have it unbolted but it is not budging. What else do I need to loosen in order to get the pipe down?
Thanks,
Glenn

pipes should pull down likely sticking on the gaskets , but really shouldn;t need to get it down I pull the starter thru the fenderwell just remove the inner fenderwell
no idea why you can't unclip the connector thought it was a tab you undid then pull them apart
