As miles climb the poor rubber O rings that seal the spark plug tubes do have a tendency of failure causing oil in the plugs . The outer gaskets seem pretty strong.
Most of the failures I hear are the plug seals.
Also I believe many installed are not done properly and fail soon after. I always use gasket adhesive and clean the area then glue the O rings in place and let them dry for at least a few hours before installing .I've seen too many just put them in flip the cover and hope they stay in place and they don't get cut/crimped during install
