Default muliple cylinder misfire

Looking for some help for what it appears is a common problem. I have a 97 avenger with a 2.5. Couple months ago I replaced the fuel filter and after driving it I got the "multiple cylinder misfire" code. My mechanic reset code and said it was probably due to lack of fuel pressure which I relieved to change filter. Few weeks later car died and had to replace cps? (the one below distributer) Car up and running again for about a week and same CEL appears. This time mechanic changed vavle cover gaskets, seals around plug wells, plugs, wires and cap and rotor. Again a week goes by and light appears again! Car runs fine and does not have a miss at all so what else can I check? And why does the light come on after a week or so and not right away as it is driven daily? Any help would be appreciated? Thanks

Can be bad fuel pump , bad injectors, bad distributor, bad wires, bad plugs, bad cap, bad rotor, oil in plug wells ect ect

just cause parts were replaced does not mean they were good

Yes I understand what your saying but car runs fine. it doesn't miss at all. So what could be making it throw a code? As far as fuel pump goes I thought they were either good or bad? Can I check fuel pressure and if so what should it be?

I don't have my manual with me ... There is a procedure for checking fuel pressure , I'm guessing one of the others are the more likely cause , distributor related would be my guess
