99 Avenger ES ABS Fuse blowing
Hey guys, I have recently experienced a ****ty issue with my car.
My 10amp fuse for the ABS sensor is below my feet drivers side car. It is blowing when using fan speed control. So to let you know what Ive been doing is :
Driving down road, hear the click, ABS Light comes on in the interior gauge of the car and my blower motor ( under passenger feet ) quits working. So I replace the 10amp fuse to a new one and return my fan speed to low medium or high and instantly blows.
Do you think this is the ABS Sensor/relay failing or the wiring behind heat/fan controls?
Keep in mind I just replaced my blower fan motor last year due to complete seize up and was running fine.
The odd time I can put in the 10amp fuse and it will run the fan but only for 10-15 minutes max and done. Recently, went through 2 packs of fuses while trying to get home frozen as a wooly mammoth in -30 temperatures.
Pulling it into the shop tomorrow night to completely dry off, warm up and refire and see if snow or ice is creating an issue with the sensor. Short of that I will be pulling a part my dash to check for wiring issues and will be doing it my self since Dodge ( stealership ) told me it was an 8 hour job to just get into the speed controls via the dash.
Yea yea, let me pay you 1000+$ to check for a wiring issue behind my dash, I think not.
Any information is extremely appreciated, also does anyone have a god damn clue where the ABS sensor/relay is on the 99 avenger??? Is it in with the brake drums and ****?
If all else fails Sunday I will be wiring the blower motor directly in.
Thanks guys!

The rear sensors are on the inboard side of the rear wheel bearings.
You will have to troubleshoot the circuit , I'd guess you have a short causing to much current , have you tried unplugging the blower motor ? and see if the fuse still blows
Or remove the ABS relay and see if the fuse still blows that will help you decide where to look

Hey Venge, me and my electrician pulled out the blower motor and it was running at 11.8 amps. Then it started blowing 20 amp fuses, 30 amp fuses so we cleaned the whole inside and came out at 7.8 amps.
Reconnected the blower motor started driving down the highway turned the control to window defrost and bang the fuse again. Clearly its the blower motor pulling different amperages upon switching controls, the speed setting was ok could move it around and it be fine but the minute it got in the car and i changed to defrost, gone.
Gonna replace the blower motor and go from there. Fuse did not blow when blower motor was disconnected.
Might I add, the back screw to get at was effing ignorant, none the less I left it out for quick re&re
