Default New owner of 99 Avenger Sport

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I purchased a 99 sport auto with 180k on the dash its a gold metallic color.

There are a bunch of to-dos with this vehical.

-The drivers seat back is collapsed. Need to replace hopefully find a more comfy seat from a salvage yard.

-Mysterious (to me) brake dash light thats always on. Thought it was for the hand brake but stays on no matter what. Is it for something else?

-Needs a new drivers outside door handle ASAP.

-both windows seem VERY loose in the frames things bounce all over the place if they are half down.

The body is in great shape and other than a front bumper that need to be repainted it pretty sharp looking for a 99.

Brake light-- possible low fluid level--check brake fluid.
Door handles are cheap and new on ebay.
My windows are loose also. There is a tutorial on the dsm forums somewhere to fix this.
Our cars are built using a lot of eclipse parts especially the doors.
Good luck with your new venge.

windows loose are caused by closing the doors by pushing on the windows, it bends the tracks , you can take the doors apart and try to straighten them and tighten the sliders

95/99 eclipse door handles work , or if you can find them an RCAZ repair kit can fix the current one http://rcaz.com/ has a great how to

There it is. I was wondering is there a way to check with my vin what upgraded options my sport model came with?

Also i checked the fluid level. There is a fluid level sensor in there it uses a floating bobble that drops when the fluid level is low and illuminates the bake dummy light on the dash. First car i have ever seen use something like this. But this is my first mitsu based platform vehical. So problem solved on the brake light.

Nice Venge. Is it a V6? Click the link below. It's a post about vin decoding and build sheets. Dodge emailed a complete build sheet free of charge.

Also here is a link to a door handle for $7.05 with free shipping. rcaz.com quit selling the kit but still claims to have a tutorial on the site. I have a cheap handle on the right side from the previous owner---so far it works good.

I'd AVOID the ebay ones they are less then good , I'd go to the Mitsu dealer and order an OEM one It'll last far longer

He may be right. I don't have enough experience with the cheap handles to fully recommend them. We don't have a lot of choices since the oem handles are faulty as well. I really wish that kit was still available, at least it was metal.
