Default transmission problems

Ok guys, I recently purchased a 98 avenger from a family friend for $300. My main concern for it was it didn't leak anything, and it started right up, its for my son. As soon as I started it up I could hear this whinning noise, only when you go to give it gas. It does it when its in gear or in park. Yesterday the CEL came on and the trans started slipping out of gear when you come up to a stop. In order to get it to go back into gear you have to give it quite a bit of gas, about 2000 RPM's. Also at this time I pulled to codes off of it and they were, 0302, 0731, 0732, 0733, 0734, 1782 and 0700. I know the 0302 is a misfire and Im pretty sure I got this taken care of with the plug wires & plugs. From my research the 0700 codes are coming up the transmission solenoid. I guess my question is this, could a bad solenoid be causing the slipping and the whinning noise? I know its only a $300 car but hay... Cant beat it for your kids car huh, lol.

Oh yeah, the transmission I have a line on is from a 97 avenger with the v6 in it. Would this fit in my 98?

Yes the 1997 would bolt up to your 1998. Just look at the pin connection for the TRS and make sure the connection is the same.
