how fast does a 98 dodge avenger v6 go because i just got one and i wanted to know what its top speed was?

 

At a snail's pace...130mph is our factory limit.

 

I hit 120 before I backed off and still felt like I had alot more room to go faster, but that was when I still had OD. lol

 

i hit 130 cut off my 6 is slightly modified but i got there very fast

 

I am pretty sure I have been above the 130 mark with my 5 speed 420A powered Venge. I have been told that the cut off is 136. I thought for sure I was doing somewhere between 130 and 135 on the speedo going down the backside of a hump in the middle of a bridge. I could be wrong, I was a little pre-occupied with an Acura Integra that was receiving an *** whoopin!

 

You have an avenger that can beat an integra? Wasnt a type R then was it.........I cant believe how slow my car is..My wifes Taurus is faster.

What is the stock timing for the 2.5L motor? I cant find the info anywhere and that stupid haynes manual is absolutely no help what so ever...it contains less information then I have found out on my own by looking through the car trying to find the various shorts and other little problems.

 

The 2.5L is a ~17 second 1/4 mile racer folks...yup, slow.

Todd, what exactly are you doing, lol. I believe the timing is electronically controlled by the ECU and if you're trying to advance it you will need a piggy back called the ICON.

 

My ,99 ES has been up to 125 but ran outta road. Still plenty of throttle left.

 

Remember that the stock ES tires are H rated which is a 130mph tire. Unless you changed to a Z rated tire and removed the speed limiter, you're not going to go much faster I wouldn't go past 130mph on H rated tires anyway, nor is there a reason for it unless you're on a track with mods that put you past 130mph.
