1997 Avenger ES Rear Disc help
Hello,
Over the weekend I was doing a 4 wheel brake job but when I got to the rear discs I could not figure out how to remove the rotors. I am not sure if the parking brake shoes need to be adjusted in or what is going on. I removed the rubber plug that is in the rotor and I did see some springs so I would assume that the parking brake shoes are holding the rotors on. If this is the case how do you go about adjusting them in so the rotor can be slid off.
Thanks
Glenn

OK first things first , Parking brake Off ?
Next thing is do the rotors have threaded holes in the face ? Have you gotten the correct bolts and used them to break the rotor free
Have you hit them with a hammer to try to knock them loose ?
Have you tried a three armed puller to remove them ?
Have you tried heating them with a torch ?
If the parking brakes holding them on they are way too tight
spin the rubber plug to about the 6 oclock position theres a star looking wheel to adjust them in , but I think the other things will fix it
be sure to apply some never seize on the rear face when installing the new to prevent future troubles
