I am in the process of doing a transmission fluid change on my 1997 Avenger ES and would like to know how many quarts of fluid it would need. The transmission is shifting a little rough so I was thinking about putting a quart of Lucas addition in when I do the fluid change but I am not sure how many quarts of fluid to get.

Depends, pan change, or entire cycle...

10 quarts for a cycle out.
~5 Quarts for fluid and filter change, maybe 6.

Measure what you took out just to be sure.

DO NOT use Dexron! ATF+3 or +4 only.
DO NOT use additives.
