I don't have a favorite oil and right now i just run the mobil one clean 5000 stuff and a fram filter. I was wondering what everyone else uses and why. Also what filter should I use. I been thinking about running mobil one syn and a mobil one filter. Anything I should try or look at? Are the oil additivies any good?

 

Alot depends on your preferance. running a quality synthetic with a quality filter such as mobil1. k&n, wix napa gold, supertech (walmart filter) will yeild you good results. My brew of choice is mobil1 with one of the filters listed above.

Royal Purple is supposed to be excellent. I used to use Mobil 1 SYN all the time, but the properties in Royal Purple are honestly superior to even Mobil 1. Check out the manufacturers websites, when it comes down to it-- alot of choice is really personal preference. I had a g/f once that I made the mistake of taking to the auto parts store with me to get everything I needed to change the oil in her car with. She MADE me buy valvoline ( not that valvoline is bad at all b/c its not ) just b/c she liked the packaging go figure...marketing works.........
