noise from front right suspension
Well i'm not to educated on the suspension part of my car. Never messed around with it and don't just have much knowledge of the area. Last night I started to here a noise coming from my front right tire area. Whenever I turn the steering wheel it was making a creaking kinda noise. I'm not low on power steering fluid and its not a loud noise like it would be my power steering belt. When I push down on the front end really hard it kinda makes the noise just not as bad. When I drive straight it just doesn't make a noise at all, any movement of the steering wheel and it makes a noise. I have a 99 dodge avenger es with the 2.5L v6. Any help would be awesome.
What kind of noise are you talking about? Creaking, thud, squeak? Do you hear it while going over bumps such as speed bumps, driveway curbs...what? Does it do it when you turn hard/fast, which side?
We'll need more specifics otherwise you will get the default answer...go to the dealership and check your VIN to see if the lower ball joint was replaced, since it's a recall item and will be inspected and/or replaced.

Just drove it again and still same stuff. Its making a creaking noise in the front right suspension area. It does it when I go over a bigger bump, not a lil 1 inch bump. It creaks every time I move the steering wheel pretty much. Well when I move it enough for the car to change direction. When I turn it really fast it still does it but sometimes not as much. Just a loud creaking noise, and not sure what exactly it is.
Well it finally got into the shop and they said that it was the ball joint, control arm, and something else. All needed to be replaced. The ball joint was said to be worped out or something . The Control arm was warn out and stuff. he said all parts and labor woul dbe $640. Is this stuff covered under a recall?
I checked the dodge website about my recall and it said "No Incomplete Recalls or Customer Satisfaction Notifications Exist ". I emailed them and will see if they email me back tomorrow.
I believe that lower balljoints are on the recall but not the upper. If the lower is your case, then yes (one of them, don't remember which though), if it's the upper...no. The upper balljoint is more commonly replaced by replacing the entire A arm. Contact your local dealership to have them check your lower's and see if they will do them.

Had the same problem with my avenger. My steering wheel was making a rubber bending sound and when my car hit bumps, I would hear constant skweaking. I thought I needed a wheel alignment. Took it in for the alignment and the sound was gone.
But if that was not the solution to the problem, I will like to hear some advice on this issue.
