I'm betting on the cruise control components in the engine bay. Mine would do that at night.....when it was harder to see potholes
. Mine also started to get "weaker", it would take it longer to realize that the speed had dropped 15mph slower than what was set. I think mine was the diaphram though.
Anyway, check you vacuum line(s) that go to the components and make sure that they aren't hard, they should be fairly soft and it should feel rubbery and not like plastic and check for tears in them too.
I would also suggest getting a Haynes/Chiltons manual if you don't already have one.
