Default Just got a 97

Im a jeep man at heart, but on 36" tires the gas was killing me so i picked up a 97 5 speed 2.0 for a dd. The previous owner put a pretty loud exhaust on, not sure what brand at the moment, but it sounds like a riced out civic, and im not crazy about it. Im looking for an exhaust slightly louder then factory with a good pitch to it,may even consider factory, but nothing crazy like i have now. Any suggestions, and not too expensive, just for DD use. Also, the pickup seems to be very slow, im not sure if it has to do with the current exhaust and not enough back pressure, or just the engine it self. It does have an aftermarket air intake cone filter, down kinda like a cold air. I would drop a few dollers in to give it a little more pickup, ive seen some chips which say they add hp and what not. Suggestions?
Thanks Mike

Welcome to DF built4x4.
That is a POS, they end up being more of an air restriction than anything. My recommendation....don't lose your money on that. You have to remember that your car is pretty heavy and nothing like a jeep. I would start with a tune up and add seafoam or mccc to the tune up to clean the insides a bit, that's a good start right there.
