Default Cup Holder

Hi, I just bought a 99' Avenger ES not too long ago and I love it. The only thing wrong with my interior though is my cup holder is broken. The door has broken off and im not sure if I am missing something because the actual holder is square and does not hold drinks well. Is there some kind of insert that im missing or something? Could someone post a pic of their cup holder or direct me to where I can buy a new one. thanks

There is an insert that connects to the lid. It's rounded to hold cans, some fast food cups, etc. The junk yard is probably the easiest, cheapest place to get a replacement for it.
Look in your cupholder, see those two holes on either side? That's where the insert sits and it's connected to the lid, so that the insert is set up, otherwise it lays down alone the bottom of the holder. Oh and a spring or two for tension.
You can get the lid and insert along with the spring from any 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse also.

...and welcome to DF

My cover was broken so I removed it. I lined the bottom of the holder with a velcro pad then I cut out foam rubber trinagles and glued them in the corners making a circle. It holds every drink pretty good. Even the 44oz Big Gulp.

Is there supposed to be more than 1 cup holder? I saw a pic of an avenger with a cup holder inside the center console box that I dont have. Is this an add on or something im supposed to have?

I'm with you on that.
The cup holder isn't deep enough and it's in an odd place. The only time I ever used the cupholder was when my wife was in my car, which was rare anyway, lol.
