so i was driving home and my car went into limp mode (1997 avenger 119000 miles) and i got a CEL code of 45. i cant find the code...need your guys' help

 

ok so i found it in my handy dandy haynes manual and it says "transaxle fault present in transmission control module-automatic transaxles" my new question...how much is this gonna cost me to fix?

yeah so i pulled the codes and the result looks daunting for a driveway mechanic like me...


PO700 transmission control system malfunction
PO720 output speed sensor curcuit malfunction
PO733 gear 3 incorrect ratio

yeah so i reset the PCM and the TCM to see what exactly was wrong, and apparently my tranny cant go into 3rd gear...and how can a gear ratio be incorrect?

 

it could be one or two of these two things
speed sensors are shot
or solenoid pack is bad
and also a flush and filterchange helps

btw i hate these transmissions ive blew 2 of them apart
