I just bought a '99 Avenger 4cyl 5spd [sm=smiley4.gif], and was wanting to get some opinions on whether to convert it to an automatic from a 5spd or if I should leave it. I live in the city with heavy traffic, and I haven't been driving manual every long.
Would anyone know how hard it is to change a 5 speed avenger to an automatic?
Also, would anyone know where I could find an automatic trans on a tight budget?
what are you looking for specifically?
if you have an automatic in good condition and i have a manual in good condition, maybe we could work something out, hm?
people in the asec community would kill for that car, but if you really want an auto i suggest buyin an auto because manual to auto swap is a pita but auto to manual is pretty easy
yea my bro is on asec and he's wanting to sell it to one of his buddies on there. i really love that car, and i would love to keep it manual but i'm in a bind.
it's my first car pretty much, i just learned how to drive manual a few days ago, i live in birmingham so traffic sucks, my parents dont trust me driving it, and i start back to school wednesday and i have to have a car to get to school and to athletic training.
the car needs some work here and there and a new paint job and i dont have money for it right now.
i really dont want to sell the car and i hate to convert it but i'm kinda stuck.
i'm not really sure. i just bought the car.
od says 156,183 but idk if that's how many are on it.
i think i might just leave it manual, cause i dont have time or resources either.
