Cabin water leak.
I have a water leak into the cab of my avenger. It is so bad the carpet is saturated. I replaced the sunroof edge seal, but nothing changed. I have looked all over under the car for possible holes and /or bad plugs. Found nothing. Recently drove the car in a thunderstorm and once again the floor was saturated.
I have ripped out the seats , carpet etc. down to the floor pan, but I still cannot find a place where I believe the leak to be originating from.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Hello John, Thanks for your reply. Best I can determine without removing a fender or the dashboard is that it is coming from the right front passenger side. It appears to run in under the electronic equipment on the front floor board and at the side location by the door. I have removed the electronic panel on the floor board and attempted top see where th leak was coming from, but to no avail. I hooked the panel back up to the floor as it is grounded and I do not know what that particular component does, and I wanted to drive the car.
I think it could possibly be some gasket or plug up under the windshield wiper cover back under the recess, but it is hard to see. If you know of anything please let me know and I will check.
The car is in great shape and this just appeared all of a sudden, but I think it was leaking for some time, just never presented itself the way it currently has.
Any help will be appreciated.

Do you by chance park under a tree? There are supposed to be drain holes on either sides where the windshield wiper motor and linkage are and if they get clogged, well, it leaks into the cabin, lol. I would also look closely at the windshield's rubber trim that covers the glue and whatnot, that could be dry and allowing water to seep past the seal. Make sure there aren't any missing firewall plugs.
On my car, on the passenger side, there is a boot that has wiring going through it and if that boot isn't seated, has a rip, or is dry rotted it will leak.
Oh and welcome to DF
