95 dodge avenger es stalls!
Hi, recently my dog avenger stalls out every once in a while while it goes basically under 1000 rpms. If I stop or go really slow under 5mph it will stall out, but if I hit the gas when I notice its stalling it keeps going and it wont stall out. Also, the check engine light comes on about 3-5 minutes after I start driving my car. Whether I'm accelerating, braking or just sitting in neutral it will come on. The main thing that I am worried about is that the oil pressure gauge goes past the 1/2 when I accelerate and when I slow down it drops extremly quick to the almost bottom of the gauge. It is constantly going up and down. I recently had an oil change at Jiffy lube so the oil filter, etc. has been change. I have no clue what can be causing this and I wonder if anyone has any ideas? Thankyou!
Just a note...You have to go behind those guys and check everything that they may have touched.
Check your oil level, it really sounds normal to me. The gauge is doing what it's supposed to do. Wait until the oil has broken down a bit then it will be more "normal".
As for the stalling...go to autozone and have them connect a reader on your obdII port to check for any codes. Your EGR valve may be bad or going bad or your o2 sensor or you may just have a dirty intake tract. Check your air filter....when was the last time you did a tune up?

Yes, the oil levels are normal. My last tune up was about 10,000 miles ago. I have been running on about 4,000 rpms for the past 2 months and my tranmission now just started working. You think the air filter could have been destroyed from such high air intake?
