Default engine probs

stuttering at 4000 rpms and really low idle. changed.....fuel pump, fuel filter, throttle positioning sensor, coolant temp sensor, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, others? any ideas. this thing is running like crap and MY car isnt supposed to run like crap.

Only thing I could think of is that you have transmission probs or sumthing wrong with your heads.

Check your spark plugs, clean your throttle body, make sure your air filter isn't clogged. Change your spark plug wires and plugs if they are worn. That's about all I can think of that might be causing stuttering at high RPMs and the rough idle. How is it out of those ranges though?

it runs ok between 1 and 4 but it doesnt have the throttle response it used to. ive been thru plugs and wires. as stated above all ignition stuff has been changed.

I would try cleaning the intake tract then. Use something like MCCC or Seafoam to clean the intake and chambers, put some in the gas tank to clean the injectors. It's not expensive, just time consuming. Sounds like something is clogged or partially clogged.

i think that and also something electrical. i want a higher velocity intake too. got any suggestions that will save me some $$$???

the culprit: EGR valve stuck wide open.......duh

I see, thus causing pressure issues.
That's another reason why I'm glad Oahu doesn't have emission laws and why I removed my EGR system.

mines pluggedno more vac problem. i also gutted my converter(catalytic)
