Default mystery switch

what is the swith under the hood(like a door swith) at the front right of the car?there is no light under the hood of my 96 ES so this leads me to beleive it is an alarm sensor. Also. i need to find out what i can about stock alarms because my bow was stolen out of my back seat the other day(it was unlocked) and im looking to upgrade.

Can you give more detail on that. The only "switch" I can recall is the one under the dash to the left thats more like a "flip" switch that controls your alarm. You stated that it was under the hood but where left side right side near the fuse box or coolant res tank, got any pics? Help us out so we can help you, know what im saying

it is on the passenger side by the power steering fluid resivoir.it is mounted to the edge of the inside of the fender. almost like a pressure switch, from a previous after market alarm maybe?

My 96 does have a light under the hood but it is a mercury swithch not a push.
and I looked all over the left side and I dont have one there so it might have something to do with an after market alarm.

Mine came with factory alarm so who know's !!!
I also looked in the haynes and chilton and there is no referance to a switch there.....

hope this help's

How about this...set your factory alarm, if it goes off, then it's connected to that. If it doesn't go off, pop the hood anyway and check to make to see if the interior lights are on (keep doors closed). If nothing happens, it is most likely an aftermarket alarm pin switch that has long since been disconnected.

Oh and "TTT" means "To The Top".
