That is called the keydance. 95-97 had that convenience, but the 98-00 did not. You turn the key to the "On" position 3 times...then off 2 times, on the third time to "On", you leave the key in the "On" position and count the CEL light flashes. They flash in pairs btw.
It may help if you count seconds while turning...I used to count to 3![Wink](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
1 second...2 seconds...3 seconds...stop. See, easy.

Are you having charging problems? That's what 41 means, there's an issue with the alternator field control circuit. That includes the alternator, pcm, asd relay, battery light in the cluster. Is your battery light on? Does the interior lighting come on? Is your headlight dim (and not because of it being fogged up)?

Have your alternator checked for amperage and voltage. Check the fusible links in the fusebox that are for the alternator and battery. You need to check them physically and electrically. Make sure that both the bat and alt links have the same voltage with the car off and on. The two links are always on btw. I forgot to add that the battery is also in the charging circuit. So, if the battery dying, that can have an affect on the charging system too. Worse case scenerio, the pcm is not allowing the alt to charge the battery, then the alternator, everything else is easy and not as pricey.
The question remains though, is your battery light on? Let the car do a self check for all your cluster lights by turning the key to the "on" position and wait for the battery light to turn off. If it doesn't come on, you'll need to check the bulb because it's in the self test.
Also get a Haynes/Chiltons manual
