i have a problem with my check engine light flashing when i am letting my car idle for short periods of time like at a redlight. also during this idling time my oil pressure gauge drops. i suposedly had my oil pump replaced and this did not solve the problem. Any help will be appreciated.

Check your oil level. Do the key dance if you have a 95-97 yr or take it to autozone to get the troubleshoot code(s). Check your engine and make sure everything looks to be in order. I might suggest taking it to the folks that changed your oil pump too...after the other stuff.

My 98 Avenger Sport does this also, but the code returned is always cylinder no1 misfire. I have already had the wires, plugs and distributor cap but that one keeps coming on, the mechanic suggested it might be the distributor but still none of this seems to relate to low oil pressure when idling. I have red elsewhere that a lot of the avengers do this but still seems weird.
