Hey everyone
I'm turning 18 soon
and for the last year i drove a cysler town car..
i beged for a nicer slick car and i got one..
So i was given a 1996 dodge avenger ES 4 months ago
I'm looking to increase the horse power without spending thousdans of dollars
nothing crazy like 300hp
just somthing i can notice
i want my car to be able to keep up with stock mustangs or maybe camaro's?
Again i know NOTHING about car engines..i sell computers haha
So please help me with some information and idea's
and please no post telling me to sell the car or blow it up like the last place

Welcome to DF! We would never tell you to do such a thing, but there really isn't a whole lot out there for the Avenger and for a verynoticeable difference your looking at a good bit of $$$ to get it.

how much more power does a stock 96 mustang have? would you know?

I posted a resource listing for Avenger's at the top of this forum. It has "go fast" and "for looks" goodies. https://dodgeforum.com/m_479686/tm.htm
There's really not a whole lot you can do to make our cars faster (either motor) without forced induction.
You can add an intake and catback exhaust to help the motor breathe better and that will give some noticable, "butt dyno" increase, but it will wear out even faster than having a turbo, lol.
Btw, a stock V6 Mustang is said to have about the same HP as our V6 models (a little more actually).
The I4 Avenger is quicker, but both cars (V6 and I4) are 17 second cars.

Very little of that i understood especialy the foreced induction part and the batback exhaust
Also im not sure if its a stange request but does anyone have An AIM screen name they could talk on?

He wuz sayin if you go to the... lets start form scratch. go 2 Dodgeforum.com scroll down till you see avenger then scroll a lil down and thats the "Sticky" ( y they call it that I still don't know) If you look around your see a post thats says "Resource List"
