at the bottom of the page it says that you might need to buy a seat rail or side mount bracket to get them to fit you car. does anyone know if i would need to purchase either of these for my car? thanks

RE: racing seats for my avenger
Welcome to DF Ramone7.
To answer your question, yes, you will need brackets to mount those seats in. You can either have custom made ones by using your stock Avenger rails or buying some as suggested from the link. BTW, if you decide to buy new rails, you can use 95-99 Eclipse and 95-98 Talon seat rails too....I suggest going to the junk yard (if you don't want to use your stock Avenger seat rails) and take some off the a junked Avenger/Sebring (coupe)/Eclipse/Talon.
You need rails for those seats because they are universal so they don't come with rails. Those rails, btw, are what allow the seat to bolt onto the floor and the rails also (some) allow for the seat to move forward and backward.
If you do custom made brackets, you will have no issues with lining the bolt holes up because they will be the same pattern as stock one. There's always some fitment issues with aftermarkets (aftermarket anything for that matter).
