Avenger Air Conditioning/Defrost
Hey All,
I really want to purchase a 97 Dodge Avenger Sport near my home...but when I test drove it, something bothered me.
The air conditioning button would not turn off when I had the defrost on. When I switched the dial off defrost I could turn the AC on and off as much as I wanted, but when it was on either of the defrost settings the AC button would not turn off.
Is this normal? My buddy has a 96 Avenger ES and I don't remember the AC button being on when the deforst was on....but I may be mistaken.
Please let me know because I really want an Avenger.
Thanks,
-Nick-

Welcome to DF Nick and yes that's normal. It helps speed up defrosting since it's effectively removing humidity from that area...it's really effective in humid areas
Aight withmy wip Im the only idiot running A/C with it being cold outside. I can't run the heat because it instantly fogs up the window nor have more than just me in the car. I was straight 2day I warmed the car up and had the heat on blast so when I got in she was straight. But as soon as I started to pull away the windows started foggin up like the heat from the engine was seeping out the hood and hittin the window. Whats the deal?
Hey Pappi, if you run the A/C on warm, it will or should keep the humidity out of the cabin, just like it keeps the humidity down during the summer. I've also noticed that if you vent instead of recirculate the air, your windows will defrost faster...odd to me but it works, lol.
AHHHH! Dat BS actually worked and I tried every combination of hot and cold in dat car never thought to moving over 1 lever to the left would finnaly fix the prob. Yo preciate that home boy.
