Default Car remote?

Does anyone know a website or place i can get a new keyless entry remote for my car? I'm pretty sure the dealerships are the only places to get new/right ones. Is there cheap ones online maybe that can be obtained and maybe programmed. If they need programming, that'd be cool to know how to, too.

Thanx

I'm really just looking for a new clicker, not a whole new system, that'd be a little too much work. But if i have too get a new one, what's the best out there and how good will it be?

Thanx

I've seen just the DCX/Mitsu remotes on eBay. That's about the cheapest you can get. They're not eBay junk either. I think I have a post in one of the "keyless entry" posts too on how to program a new remote.

I just typed in "Avenger keyless remote" and got one.

Click on pic for link.

Here's a link to the rest of them (not very many though). I may buy one of those "New style" remotes and try it out too.

Thanx for the reply. Now these remotes on your link, alls i have to do is read your how to program remotes link and it should work.?

Now, if my car is having problems with the old remotes such as not unlocking at shorter distances, it's because of the remote right? or is there maybe something wrong with the remote reciever in the car. It just seemed like the remote wasnt working from a certain distance away. It's not all the far either. I just assumed it was the remotes, could it be something within the car maybe?

Remember there is slight battery acid corrosion in the car. Maybe bad wires? Any thoughts would be great. Thanx again for the info on remotes.

Ah, nope, that is just how the remotes are. Mine has never reached far at all. Half a car length is the most and I have to put it up to my chin to get it to lock/unlock consistantly. The receivers are in the rear seating area I believe...unless I'm thinking about the Eclipses.
They are very short range. Our car's keyless entry just aren't made for distance. Other cars are better with theirs, but I think it has a lot to do with receiver positioning too. Ours are hidden behind sheetmetal. Imagine if our radio antennas where behind sheetmetal..now imagine how crappy a reception we would have, lol.

Yeah, the trim doesn't matter. Those remotes even work for Eclipses
