Default Door?

Ever since I bought my car back in June of 06, occasionally the door wouldn't shut all the way when closing. This lead to sometimes a dead battery in the morning and ripping the buttons out of place on the door. I thought maybe the door hinges were out of line or loose but i was told that they were fine. Now I think it may be the latch inside the door. Is it maybe worn out. It sometimes takes 2-3 times for the door to shut all the way and tight. What could it be and how can i fix it.

I know it's kind of a small thing and not really important, but the small things really tend to **** me off. I prolly won't stop until everything about the darn thing is perfect. Until then i'm still proud of my car no matter how many problems or comments i get about it haveing issues

Sigh
Comments would be great.

Thanx, Ben

Here's what I did and what I would suggest.
Open your door that is hard to close, close the door but stop before it actually closes, kneel down and check the side moulding to see if it's level with the rest of the side moulding. If it is, you can adjust the catch, that is bolted down onto the body. It may take a few tries before getting it right though.

That's a good question, Trayton. That's a good point.

There's a lot of cabin pressure that has nowhere to really escape...as you're closing the door. Some of the pressure in my car escapes through the sunroof and if you don't have one, you may just have to push a little bit harder.

Here's another thing to try in response to this good question.
Roll your window down...all the way, or partially down, or even just enough to vent the pressure. If it closes fine, then it's just a matter of pushing the door closed harder, if it's still not wanting to close completely, do the step in my previous post.
