belts slipping

Default belts slipping

ok sometimes not always when i drive my car it whitsles. the closest thing i can think of is the sound of a tea keddle going off and a whitsle mixed together lol... Im pretty sure its the belt slipping but im not sure... any advice? or an idea how much that would be to fix... i just bought this damn thing..

The best suggestion anyone can give you is....buy a Haynes/Chiltons manual for it. It's the best $17-$25 you can invest in.

As for you issue, if it sounds like a belt, chances are it is. There's not a lot that will or can make a squealing noise but the belts or a pulley or more. Make sure your belts are tight, make sure your belts aren't about to snap in half and make sure your pulleys are straight and not lop sided. Don't do any temp fixes if the belt needs to be replaced.
