i got pulled over for doing 65 in a 40 and i got a brake light ticket, and the ******* cop said the court will merge my tickets so it will be lower or something, but i dont want any points, this is my first ticket, do you guys think ill get points

65 in a 40 isnt like u were going slow, so I think u might have earned urself a couple points.

But maybe if they drop the speed limit for ya and merge the two tickets u wont come out as bad.

Have u fixed ur brake light yet? Maybe showing u fixed it might help.

 

yeahh dude. Good luck with the points. It doesnt go by how much the ticket cost. It goes by how much you were over. Considering you were over by 25, i'm thinking probably close to 4 or more points. IT should even say on the actual ticket how much was taken off. it could depend on if it was a city, county, or state cop too. Also where you live.

what actually happened? was it accidental, as in not knowing the speed limit or what? i have some experience in such a thing. were you extremely polite to the officer? is this going to court with a judge or a mayor's court/ local majistrate?

yeah, i got a court date, and i fixed the brake light, and my girlfriends mom knows the prosecutor so i hope that helps, what happened was i dropped my phone and went to grab it and i guess i went faster, and when i looked up my radar was going crazy and bam cop behind me...

Its illegal in the state of CT to be on ur phone while driving, ur lucky the guy didn't see ya doing both.

 

the cop should have told you how many points i think at least they have told me talk to the cop before court or he might no show up then your off the hook if u tslk to him he might ask you to plead guilty to a 31 11 a well at least thats what it is where i live wich is a ticket with no points pretty much a fine i got out of a 5 point ticket well 2 tickets but my buddy i kid u not has 42 tickets and no points on his license all 31 11 a's lol they say to always plead not guilty to speeding tickets like that and talk to the cop depending on his mood it can go either way so well c what happends

 

I was in a similiar situation in my Avenger, i was goin 55 in 30, and i took a driver improvement class and the ticket was differed, and there was no points. so you might want to try it.
