So i've decided to cash in the chips on this car, (1995 dodge avenger es) just not powerful enuff and just to get it to about 200 hp is about $600 which isnt even worth it in my oppinnion. But im not leaving completely my friend is gonna give me a good deal on a 2002 dodge stratus R/T coupe with 63k miles on it.. are those cars easy to mod or are those a pain in the *** to mod like our cars .?

Well, the Stratus R/T uses a variant of our motor. It has the 6g73 3.0L, parts of that motor can and has been swapped onto the 6g72 making it a 3.0L, bringing the Avenger's chp close to 200chp...all for the price of a used 6g73 motor.
Anyway, the Stratus is just as hard to modify as the Avenger. Also, if you think $600 is a lot to spend on HP, I wonder what you think about my car, lol. In the eyes of the turbo community, $600 is cheap...although, it probably means that you're not getting a whole lot of HP, unless you got a good deal on a turbo + supporting mods.

For you, I'd say go big. Get a V8 or you will never be satisfied. Small motors are needy and they want turbos and all the supporting mods. If you get that Stratus (no offense to the Stratus guys), you will be just as happy as you are with the Avenger, even though they are a tad faster and do have an option for a manual tranny.

whatever you are going to spend on the Stratuscould make the Avenger into quite an enjoyable ride, imo. i would just upgrade the avenger, if speed is what you are after. but be advised, high 15's for the stratus is hardly a speed demon, either... but then, i am always on the lookout for a good deal on another avenger, so be sure and let us know, ok

The Stratus R/T's have the 6G72 motors....and they are indeed faster then an Avenger, but like silver stated, they arent worth the hassle...as the market for mods is limited. You'd be better served spending the money on the Venge...

If you truly want power, find a 1st gen Neon and slap a turbo on it...., buy an SRT-4 Neon, or find you a Grand Prix GTP w/ the 240 or 260hp motors.....both are powerful and can be modded to see around 260-280 front wheel horse power for around 2grand....which is dirt cheap...

The 2004 Grand Prix GT has 200hp. The only Grand Prix models prior to 2006 that had more then 200hp were the GTP models. In 2006, Pontiac introduced the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP (a FWD V8 motor w/ 303hp...) and the previous GTP became the 2006 Grand Prix GT.....

The 04 Grand Prix GTP has 260hp/280ftlbs torque......and I wouldnt waste the time upgrading a N/A Grand Prix....too expensive....

I currently own a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G....so I know what I'm talking about

the man speaks the truth.

or buy a car that came stock with a turbo, that way bolt ons will take well to simple mods and get u over the 200 hp hump quicker.

i hope any turbo car is already over 200 hp if not it would seem pretty slow for a turbod car so buying a turboed car will already get u over the 200 hp mark. i dunno i like the srt-4 alot almost everything bout it especially when it slows down i like the girggle lol i tried racing one just for fun i knew i would loose well lets just say the race was almost over before i got into 2nd gear lol i wish i had a turbo[sm=sigh.gif] lol
