Default brake pads/rotars

I've been looking into getting new brake pads and rotars. I was just thinkin of front, but i might as well get rear too. Anyways, i was wondering what yall thought of drilled and slotted ones. One of my friends got them for his grandam and said they were some of the best.

What would be the best kind and where could i get them. I want them to be rust proof and nicer than hell. MONEY is not a matter.
Would these work? or is there something better:>?
Ebay Rotors.

Thanx.

For a bit better stopping power, those will work just fine. For bettery stopping power (you said don't worry about money), replace your braking system with Eclipse GSX front brakes. They are dual piston and the rotors are 11". The rotors are noticably bigger than the Avenger/Sebring and has more caliper surface area than the single pistons. Just an idea.

The drilled and slotted rotors are fine, I was just throwing you another idea.

Now this eclipse setup, these go on just like all the other kinds right. Nothing fishy or anything. Are they somewhat rust proof. Whats better about them?? What's so good about drilled and slotted anyway? I'm not quite sure what's the best. I want the closest to best that i can, Little Rust, Best Stop, the works.

Thanx for the input, and let me know

Thanx
Ben

2kBVES...These are stock Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX brakes that I'm referring to, stock as in, they came with the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX from the factory. The rotor sizes are anywhere from 10"-11" (depending on the year of the GSX you get them from). The calipers are all the same, no matter what year.
It may sound odd to you to swap car parts around from other cars, but it's very normal. GSX brakes have been swapped into Avengers since they were found to be direct plug and play parts, no trimming, no adjusting, just remove the old small ones and replace with used bigger ones. You can buy them new from Autozone and the likes too if you like, but don't forget the rotors since the GSX ones are bigger in diameter.
I think that answers your question too Joe

What's good about drilled an slotted rotors? If they are combined with ceramic or harder brake pads, they provide a good amount of "bite", thus helping you stop better. The only problem with them in our cars is that if you decide to try and stop like Joe did, you will encounter "brake fade" which is when your brake pedal gets spongy. These brakes aren't capable of dispersing so much heat and they end up boiling the fluid and flexing the rubber lines and so on, heat is the key. The slots and holes are suppose to help with venting the heat, plus a lot of aftermarket rotors also have vent veins to help remove the heat. The larger size of rotors also helps with keeping the rotors cooler for a longer period of time too.

Hey thanx for all the input. So for the final point, drilled and slotted would be a good thing to buy for the car(in the eclipse setup?) So larger drilled and slotted rotars, with 10" pads?

Sorry to keep buggin ya.

Thanx John.

Here's the scoop with the larger rotors that I forgot to mention. If you get GSX brakes from 95 Eclipse GSX, you will need to get the rotors too. 96-99 Eclipse GSX rotors are about the same as the Avenger's rotors, the calipers are the biggest differences. You can also get GSX calipers from wholesale shops online for a good price, just make sure to get loaded calipers or you will not get the brackets.

SS brake lines won't flex like worn rubber ones. Just think about heat and how heat softens rubber.
SS lines are steel braided so it keeps everything together underneath it. Is it worth it? I'm biased since I have them, so yes, lol. They were put on instead of the rubber lines, so, I couldn't tell you the difference between the two.
I do like the GSX brakes though, it stops me a lot quicker. My old brakes almost caused me to hit a Mercedes in the back a long time ago because it stops the car too slow.

You're not bugging me at all.
You can get just the drilled and slotted rotors to replace the stock rotors now and those will help your car stop better than with stock rotors, just make sure to use ceramic type pads or the organic ones will be eaten up really quick. Aftermarket rotors are a step up from stock.

Eclipse GSX brakes are stock Mitsubishi brakes for the AWD Mitsubishi Eclipse. They are made to stop a turbo car and they fit Avenger/Sebrings as well. The GSX brakes would be an upgrade to the stock Avenger brakes (fronts).

The Eclipse GSX calipers and rotors are even better than stock Avenger brakes, to add on to that, larger brake kits like Baer and Wilwood are even better than the GSX brakes, but are much more expensive.
