Its been a little while
Hows everyone doing? Hows your trucks been doing?
Just wondering since i havent been on the site almost this whole summer, I myself have been doing just fine but the truck's had a few things go on,
Well for an update im rolling around with no tailpipe attacherd, it rusted completly off the muffler and was riding on the axle right after the school year ended, so i took that off and it's been riding in the bed ever since, then about 2 weeks later i notice the thing got all of a sudden louder, guess what?, muffler completely broke open one whole side and completly rusted off a few feet behind the catalatic converter, so now its just hanging there, was gunna take it off but the bolts are rusted up to badly to get a rench or socket onto and just strips it away as you turn, still havent got to cutting it off, to tell you the truth it dosn't actually sound that bad and i havn't noticed a loss of power (every once in awhile though it does feel a little weaker), though when you gun it, it's now got a wierd pulsating sound to the exaust,
To add to that i had a small "accident" or whatever the hell you'd want to call it, I was backing into a parking lot at a store and there was one of those short posts behind me,one thats about as big as an average electrical/phone pole but short enouph not to beable to see the best and i backed right into the thing and either i layed into it or was goin to fast but theres at least about a whole 1-1.5inch dent in the bumper, i was pissed off at the moment but to tell you the truth i really dont care that much because ive always had plans to replace that bumper before because it had serious rust that a previous owner just covered up with sheet metal and it was twisted up (so if anyones got a chrome rear bumper thats strait and isn't rusted up and wants to sell it let me know)
....and just recently a few days ago i noticed my passenger side head light was pointed strait tawrds the ground and looked a little like it was coming out of the headlight bezal, I looked under the hood and found out the top clip broke both tabs that held it to the metal, and later found out that screw/clip was a main headlight pointing adjustment, well i went to auto zone and basicly speeking they were no absolutly no help for once, so today i decided i'd check the junkyard next to the place where my dad works, they had one 80s Dakota and that had no headlights or anything up front related to headlights and the rest were 90s Dakotas that dont even use this clip, luckily i found an 80s Ram that actually used the same clip and i ripped that apart and took it, got it for my favorite price FREE! got home and ripped the bezal off and got the old one out and put the "new" one in just fine, still have to do a little adjusting of the healights but it looks better now
Well thats everything so far, hopefully this isnt to technical for this section but if it is The mods are welcome to move this,

Though to tell you the truth i wouldnt really consider much of what ive had as problems, only main thing id consider a problem is the rust and the fact that I dont have much money i can spend to "improve" it how i would like to (318&727)

glad to hear from ya! i've around the block a time or too also. i swapped my truck over to a manual transmission, took my little 2wd offroading in brown deer, WI through mud up to the top of the grill and only got stuck due to deep ruts(and got a 400$ ticket which was reduced to 150$ and a 400$ inpound fee). blew the foglights out, new rear end(old one was toast), fixed the dent in the drivers side of the cab.
and a chunk of metal had broken off from somewhere and got stuck in one of the spider gears, so my friend and i took the posi we had lined up for 89' dak project and threw it on my truck. but i'm thinking of taking the driveline out of my truck and slapping it in the 89' and dropping the 383/727 into the 93.
as my dad always told me, "when it comes to cars, buy something someone else built and build it your way. and be creative. if you think of something try it out what have you got to lose."

Cool that ya swapped, hopefully its workin out well for ya, little surprised that ya took it off roading though if its 2X4, how'd that work out for ya besides getting stuck in the rut?, sucks that ya got a ticket to and those expenses to,

Bet that diff got ripped up inside pretty bad since ya had to replace it, at least ya got a posi off the deal!

when i took it offroading it handled amazingly. i did manage to get stuck in a puddle of water up to the top section of the grill, but i dropped her in first and she just pulled right out of it. i was about 2 tenths of a mile in when i ran into the ruts while trying to avoid them. then as i was calling my friend to come push me out of the ruts the cops showed up... it wasn't worth the almost 400 impound fee and the reduced ticket.
