fixed teh door today
As most of you already know, i had a huge dent in the side of my truck for the last 10 months(see sig pic). well 2 months ago my grandpa and I fixed the cab up(mostly) and I had been waiting on a door for a while. well, i had bought a (excellent condition) door off a 92 dakota for 50$, and today i finally found some time to throw it on. In total it took me about 3hrs to strip both doors of everything, remove the old dented door and install the undented one by myself and put on all the parts that i needed and wanted.
still not sure how to remove the window from the dorr but i managed to swap in the tinted one(after scratching the hell out of it).
before i put the glass in, i tested the handle and found out that my keylocks have seized from lack of use(keyless entry) and that the latch that came in the new door brok so it wouldn't open from the outside. all the parts are simple swaps, its all the matter of deciding what part you want to use and putting it in. I ended up using all the parts off my old door because it was either in better condition or i just felt like it.
i have pics for those who want to see them.
the only thing different about about this new door is its still silver.
just figured i'd let ya'll know.

sorry i'm slow when it comes to pics. i'll try and get them up soon. i even have pics from over summer when i worked on the truck, when i went offroading and a bunch from the custom fabricating on my honda.
and since the new door was put on my truck is now black, green, chrome, red, silver, grey, and flat black along with some mud.

2000 honda civic ex sedan base model, but for $300 the price was right and i'm second owner...now to find an exhaust for it.
heres some photos...
window shattered as i was pulling it out...

here is the door on the truck...

i'll have more of the parts inside the door tomorrow...for some reason photobucket isn't letting them upload.

since the weather is getting colder it looks like the spray can might be my only option seeing as how i don't have a heated garage to work in. as for the honda the manifold cracked and i just(5min ago) ordered new headers for it along with an e-brake cable for my truck. now i have to figure out why the tranny is squealing and still have to finish the floor yet. and last night was the first night all year that i could drive with the windows closed and not fall victim to exhaust poisoning.
i just found out my honda has a 127hp engine and holds 127horsies at 6k rpms... nice
