Default No problem here!

Since most of the posts here are questions for problems,I thought I'd shake things up a little with some pleasant personal experience.

Last week we got nailed with a serious snow storm.Almost a foot of snow in a relatively short period of time.Plus extreme cold,high winds and drifting.What a mess!

My wifes co-workers who live nearby called her saying they weren't going to work because of the snow,and my wife wasn't about to drive her little Hyundai Accent in that.They work in a hospital(high need job).What could they do?

DAKOTA TO THE RESCUE!

Thanks in most part to the good advice and info here,the work I put into my 91 Dak payed off.The 4x4 system worked flawlessly,pushing and plowing it's way through the drifts,And getting my kids to school,my wife and her co-workers to work,and me to the Tim Hortons!

SWEET! Thats a great post. All I can say is I loaned my Dakota to my neighbor to pick up a couple of pieces of furniture, and he kept going on about how smooth, powerful, etc. it is. And no, I don't normally loan my vehicles, but he is a good guy and has helped me a few times.

Nice, I have come to the aid as well for some friends. I hear you guys are getting battered by snow back east there!

We're getting snow here in the west as well. Last week I got to pull a Chevy off the side of the road after it died.

Man I really wish mine had four-wheel drive. We got maybe half an inch of snow last week, and I was stuck doing 20mph all the way to work cause it was all over the place. I need to get some weight in the back, but that only helps so much.

That's partly why I wanted 4x4 when I was looking for a truck.We have unpredictable seasons up here.2 yrs ago I got caught without snow tires on my Grand Am when a big snowfall hit.Spent $800 on snow tires,only to get maybe 2 more inchs of snow the rest of the year.Then last year there was barely enough snow all season to run a snowmobile.this year we already have 2ft banks on the roadsides.

4x4 has proven itself to me,in fun factor(trail rides),practicality(boat launching) and neccessity(winter driving).Any future trucks,maybe even cars,will be 4 wheel drive.

with my front driveshaft broken my snow experience was the opposite. the tail is WAY to light.. stacked a bunch of wheels and tires back there to try and keep traction... even with all-terrains it's not good
downside of V8 manual i guess
