Default No problem here!

Since most of the posts here are questions for problems,I thought I'd shake things up a little with some pleasant personal experience.

Last week we got nailed with a serious snow storm.Almost a foot of snow in a relatively short period of time.Plus extreme cold, high winds and drifting. What a mess!

My wifes co-workers who live nearby called her saying they weren't going to work because of the snow, and my wife wasn't about to drive her little Hyundai Accent in that. They work in a hospital(high need job). What could they do?

DAKOTA TO THE RESCUE!

Thanks in most part to the good advice and info here, the work I put into my 91 Dak payed off.The 4x4 system worked flawlessly, pushing and plowing it's way through the drifts,And getting my kids to school,my wife and her co-workers to work, and me to the Tim Hortons!

SWEET! Thats a great post. All I can say is I loaned my Dakota to my neighbor to pick up a couple of pieces of furniture, and he kept going on about how smooth, powerful, etc. it is. And no, I don't normally loan my vehicles, but he is a good guy and has helped me a few times.

Nice, I have come to the aid as well for some friends. I hear you guys are getting battered by snow back east there!

We're getting snow here in the west as well. Last week I got to pull a Chevy off the side of the road after it died.

Nice post Den37 . . . sounds like the Dak was just waiting for that storm to hit.

Man I really wish mine had four-wheel drive. We got maybe half an inch of snow last week, and I was stuck doing 20mph all the way to work cause it was all over the place. I need to get some weight in the back, but that only helps so much.

That's partly why I wanted 4x4 when I was looking for a truck. We have unpredictable seasons up here.2 yrs ago I got caught without snow tires on my Grand Am when a big snowfall hit.Spent $800 on snow tires, only to get maybe 2 more inchs of snow the rest of the year. Then last year there was barely enough snow all season to run a snowmobile.this year we already have 2ft banks on the roadsides.

4x4 has proven itself to me,in fun factor(trail rides),practicality(boat launching) and neccessity(winter driving).Any future trucks,maybe even cars,will be 4 wheel drive.

with my front driveshaft broken my snow experience was the opposite. the tail is WAY to light.. stacked a bunch of wheels and tires back there to try and keep traction... even with all-terrains it's not good
downside of V8 manual i guess
