Well I live in Connecticut and we don't have inspections unless a Cop makes you go. Well I got given a warning ticket a few weeks ago and the dang cop puts down I have defective tail lights (why I don't know) so I took the hour trip to a DMV that has a inspection lane (there's only 2 in Connecticut open now one is in Enfield and one is in Wethersfield.) Well I guess I hit one guy who does not like cars or trucks, because normally they don't car as long as the stuff works it floats they sign off stamp and say bye. Well this monkey who works for the state (no not racist I call all state workers monkeys), decided to do a FULL inspection on my truck for what reason I DON'T KNOW. Now my 1st gen is a little 4 cylinder, its got a stack yes, big deal, it's got a FULL exhaust none the less and this monkey first comment out of his mouth "Got a warning ticket for your exhaust" wow think this guy is a moron. He then said "You need to put a muffler on your truck" I said I have one, and he goes on a 20 minute rant saying I don't. Then he decided to do a full inspection, WHEN HE WASNT SUPPOSE TO! Well he put the truck up in the air and said "Well your exhaust system is completely illegal, your header is, your cat is your muffler is." Excuse me???? Dynomax is not legal in Connecticut (BULL****), Cherry Bomb is not legal in Connecticut (BULL****) and Flowmasters are not legal in Connecticut (COMPLETE BULL****!) Excuse the language, he gave me, not 1 not 2 but 8 warning tickets (WTF). One for the headers, cat, muffler, tail lights, head lights, corner lights, hood pins, stack, and my stereo system. I'm sorry but last time I checked on ANY of those box's no where does it state "FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY" I proceded to contact Dynomax, Cherry Bomb, Flowmaster and everyone else whos products I used. They all said "That product is LEGAL in Connecticut, as long as you use it with a cat and muffler or for Flowmaster "As long as you have a cat on your vehicle is is fully legal", this guy has a hard on for trying to **** people off I think, I told the monkey if he wants my truck stock he can go kick rocks, cause it is staying the way it is. I've never been pulled over for how my truck sounds, just for the Obama Sticker on my back window or it might be my sticker helping support Springfield Firearms. I'm sorry but do any of you guys think it's bull**** too?

 

Sure sounds like BS. Just some people don't know what they are doing. Maybe all he knows is stock stuff.

 

for real! wth? to give you 8 is just excessive but to split the exhaust system into 3 seperate things like that is just asinine and a dick move lol. hes no doubt out to get you. im sorry man.

 

See if you can get info on that stuff being legal from the manufactures. I would consult a lawyer or talk to the guys boss. That is ridicules!

 

I'd go drive through a big steaming pile of manure, then promptly get it re-inspected.

 

Oh no get this too, the monkey even said the stuff you get get from Mopar at the dealership, such as mufflers, headers, anything like that performance wise is ILLEGAL, I'm like so if I go out and buy a brand new Dodge Ram with a Hemi (because they come stock with a sexy sound) in it or a brand new Ford F-150 Raptor it's illegal he promptly answered yes. I waited for a few minutes, you know what this monkey was driving a damn PRIUS! I was like WTF he's a tree hugging HIPPIE, I wish I knew where the guy lived cause I'd call up a bunch of friends I know who have fast and loud vehicles an even invite any of ya'll who'd wanna have some fun, tear up his lawn and have street racing starting at his house so he can hear the true sound of sexy lol. I am going to contact DMV on Tuesday when they open and find out why this monkey has a job, better yet why he's choosing to LIE to people. I said and I quote, if the dealership sells these parts that means they come stock you monkey, that means they are LEGAL, and if he expect me to come up and get it reinspected he can kick rocks cause I'm not driving 50+ miles to have you say my truck is legal. I am sorry I know my ride is legal, just because he wants to be a dick and be quite with his ride and be a tree hugging hippie don't mean I have to, I rev my motor everytime I see PRIUS driving, to put out the emissions his ride is lacking.

 

Sounds like he has a burr under his saddle. Its Bullcrap what these idiots can do all it takes is for one of the God in black to write some type of ticket and we get screwed.

I would say that DMVs take emissions more seriously then any other problem on a vehicle and it's just BS. If you really wanna get back at the monkey go to his house and cut the Y pipe on his prius and then when he goes to start it the next morning he will get a nice surprise.

A sawzall will do the trick.

 

if he had a rwd i'd say take the driveshaft off...i did that to a guy who sideswiped my truck and took off...needless to say he came out the next morning and got a surprise....i left them in his yard as to not seem mean or anything...
