Sell or part out

I have a 1989 dakota 3.9 auto 2wd that i need to get rid of it is giving me too much trouble it has 128000 miles and has a tranny leay engine leak and bad brakes what should i do part it out or sell it whole i want 750 out of it it runs and drives good except brakes

Yeah, I would sell it as a whole unit.
If you part it out, the chances are good that people will take the valuable parts out and just leave you with a non-running frame and body.

Fix the brakes and then sell it for 2000 or best offer?

You could get 750, maybe even 1000. No way you'd ever get 2000 around where I live though.

Well this is how I'm looking at it: No brakes means you can't drive it on the road. If you fix the brakes, then it becomes street-worthy and the value of the truck increases significantly.
Try to sell it for 2000, it's unlikely that you'll get that amount but if you can negotiate with people and perhaps get it for 1200-1500, then that's better than 750.
