Default K guys, watch out. Im going to complain!!!!

Ok guys here is my complaint!!!

It seems to me that the lovely little magnum 360 with or with the tranny seem to be wiped off the face of the earth. I mean like seriously I have been looking for the past six months and there is squat if anything. Though if your looking for a lovely cummins or a new hemi, I can get a low mileage one for less then a core deposit. Though nothing for the 360. I tried good ol kijiji, google, ebay, etc.. and nothing worth its salt. Maybe you guys have luck and I don't though if I cannot find a 360 soon it seems like a first truck/project might be sent to a scrap yard, or I do a hemi swap. Now do any of you guys are able to still find a 360 motor in decent shape???

Oh ya I reside in Alberta, where their are more 4x4 than you can shake a stick with. and I am using a 2wd where they are RARE here. Expectally the v8 kind.

K guys I am done my rant, now lets play with our trucks.

Your best bet is to search for a 5.9 Magnum instead of a 360 Magnum. They came on 93-02 Rams 1500,2500,3500's/ Ram Vans/ Dakota R/Ts and QC 98?-02/ Durangos 4wd/awd and R/T's. Jeep Grand Cherokees for one year only or something like that 2000?

If in a Craig's List ad it's listed as a 5.9 rather than a 360 then it won't come up in a search. So there is a difference, in how you phrase your keyword for your search.

There is a difference. One is a 5.9 Magnum. 360's are mostly refereed to as the LA engines. Not many people are going to list a 360 Magnum when it is labeled as a 5.9 Magnum.

Its like saying Dodge Ram Vs. Chrysler Ram, or as it is now days just Ram. Just like the Chevy vs Chevrolet or Chevrolet Silverado Vs GMC Sahara. The list goes on and on. My point is call it what the manufacturers call it, that is the way it was built and labeled as. Or are you going to call your wife woman? Its the same thing right?

Thanks captain obvious. You should get an award for that. You must not do too many searches on the internet?

Sorry for the belated post, I was referring to the 5.9L I was just being dumb and typed 360. On top of that I finally found a couple of extremely used engines now the problem is trying to find a 2wd tranny for it. I am trying to search for the engine and the tranny to be one piece so I can rip it out all at once but no luck. Chances are I am picking up a used engine to work on this winter, gives me something to do. Also I know it not of topic but pretty soon I will be posting the build thread of my truck, A lot of things have change on her, and I think it be worth it to check out.

Anyone who knows anything, will know that when you say 360, your talking about the 5.9L Magnum, and not your Xbox.

Your best bet is to call yards that pull and catalog engines, and check CL regularly for parts trucks. Getting a 30k 5.9L out of a durango here in the next week for a few hundred bucks..guy is even giving me the torque convertor!
