Default 318 starter compatibility problem

Hey guys,

I have a 318 Magnum from a 1994 Dakota that I'm hoping to swap into my 1993 v6 Dakota. The starters are supposedly the same between the two motors, but when I went to test fit the starter on the 318, it doesn't seem to clear the header. I'm going to have to pull the transmission to be able to bolt the starter on (have to pull trans anyway.... replacing frame), but I don't see how it is going to work.

Anyone heard of this problem before or am I being dumb?

Edit: sorry, I didn't mean to post this here...could a mod move it please? Thanks and sorry.
