Want to know if this tranny will work on my 93 V8.
Cant read the paper sticker on it.
there is a number stamped on the driver side above tne pan.

Number on the back top of tail shaft is

It's probably an A500/42rh. Your 93 likely has a 518/46rh behind the V8. It'll fit with some hole modifications on the flex plate, and bolt up to your engine, but don't expect it to last too long. I mated an A500 to my magnum 360 pushing 400 HP, but I had it rebuilt with performance clutches/bands and V8 internal hardened parts. Basically a 46rh with the gearing of an A500. The gear ratios are a bit different in the A500...higher lower gear I believe.

Default Transmission.

Thanks for the info. Robertmee.
not wanting to push my luck with a older tranny. Not planing on rebuilding it.
So im looking for a 518 46rh tranny for now.
Plan on building a 5.9. Lt motor in the future and rebuilding the tranny at the same time.
untill then i picked up a 92 sport for $200 (non runner) figured out what was wrong with it. So im driving that around while i save up some parts. Interesting what you did with your tranny. Gearing can make a lot of difference.
