Default Some cabin water leak issues

Hey all
I finally got a decent day outside although those will be few from now on. When I got this truck I noticed a definite interior musty smell and stained areas on the carpet where it looked like there had been standing water to some degree. When I got it back to the house I completely vacuumed it out and got everything off the floor in order to let it ventilate and perhaps dry out. I was hoping that this wasn't pointing to a particular leak but now I'm not sure.

Looks to me like it's been leaking quite a while, the rust under the driver side carpet is pretty bad but not through, which is fine in my book.

I'm hoping that this isn't from a leak at the cowl that I can't get to or from the windshield since that's been replaced once already. I suppose it could be though. I know about the rear upper trim pieces and the seam there but honestly I don't see anything in the back where water is coming from those areas.

I guess what I'm asking is what are the most common places for water leaks? I already cleaned the cowl area above and around the hvac air intake. I'm hoping this isn't an active leak and the only thing I have is wet carpet that was the result of where it sat and the position of the truck.

If I can I'll put a hose to it in the next day or so, maybe I can locate where the water is coming from.

Thanks
Steve A

Have a friend help you with the hose. Since you have the interior mostly out, if there is a leak, it should be easy to find...... You just sit in the cab, and look around, while your friend sprays the truck down.

So I found all the water leaks, six to be sure, fixed one of them but spent a lot of time on another and did very little good.

Leaks at:
both door seals
both quarter glass
cowl grommets (left / right) left fixed, right one not yet.

Is there a weatherstrip company that people have used and are happy with? I tried for over an hour to get the quarter glass weatherstrip to seal and it wouldn't do it. I'm afraid going with used stuff like this will get me no where, most vehicles are going to be close in age and no newer than 96 on this body style so I'd prefer not to waste time finding / buying and trying used stuff only to have it not work at all.

Thanks

Steve

Sofseal (or something along those lines) is pretty good. LMC Truck may also have new seals for you.

Thanks, I saw the Sofseal ones just doing a general query on goog, there are people on Ebay who also sell the bulb type weatherstripping in bulk as well.

It's not the weatherstrip itself that's failed it's the metal crimp portion that's bad along the bottom edge. The water is getting in by flowing over the lower pinch weld flange where the weatherstrip is no longer tight. I'm almost thinking that the new should have a bead of silicone applied into the U channel at the bottom of the door opening.

As for the quarter glass it seems that the weatherstrip just has no more resilience, water is entering at the top and running down the glass and pooling at the behind the interior panel, then runs down the alongside the speaker to the floor.

I'm going to have to por-15 the driver floor at the very least. The good thing though is I don't see any holes.
