I have a 1993 Dakota Sport extended cab and I'm looking for a device that stops the theft of the tailgate. I'm not having much luck.

Does anyone have a tailgate lock on a 1st Gen Dakota? If yes, what's the brand?

Do you have a topper of any kind, or not?

If you do - there used to be kits to move the latch INSIDE the tailgate. One such is https://www.x2industries.com/product...relocator-kit/

If not, the next is a lock for the tailgate - I don't find a specific one, but these MAY work. MAY.

I think that's the second one I linked to; but again, I don't know for sure it will, or it won't, fit.

LMC might have ,check them out..Just a thought....................................

 

They'll list them for 2nd Gens, which should still work fine; LMC doesn't have squat listed for 1st Gens.
