Default 87 Dakota alternator question

Question about my alternator. I have a V6 with a bad alternator
The one currently on the truck has three wires, one is a terminal type on the larger lug, the other two (black and green) are plug in type. I can find replacement alternators but all three of the connections are the terminal type connectors no plus in, my wiring has a lug/terminal and two separate plugs
My question is can I cut the wires and switch the plugs to terminal type and just screw on the connectors. I am not sure what the amperage size of the alternator is either
Any help would be great.
I posted here before and the advice was great
Thanks
Desmond

I have no idea off hand.

Have you checked the factory service manual? Can you find out the amperage size of the alternators? How about pictures of the back of both of them?

On the 2 smaller terminals, could you use something like this in the picture below? And if so, are you sure your old alternator does not have these already, and you just need to move to the new one?
