RalphP has passed away
Hey everyone,
I unfortunately come with bad news. I didn't see this posted anywhere else but figured any regulars here should know. On December 27, RalphP's wife posted to a First Gen Dakota Facebook group with the following message:
I was very sad to hear about this as I've received help, and watched RalphP help others, for the past decade that I've owned my truck. He was flush with Dakota knowledge and you will see that he posted here frequently. RIP RalphP.

to fellow Dakota owners. Just to let you know
Ralph will no longer come to the forum to discuss the Dodge. He passed away yesterday afternoon. It was sudden, unexpected and he did not suffer. He's driving the Dakota in heaven.

Dang that stinks. I was just noticing that there were no replies by him recently and getting ready to log off when I saw this post. By my reaction apparently I really liked that guy I never met a lot. RIP RalphP
Major bummer. He was a valued member here. He will most certainly be missed.
My sincere condolences to all his friends and family.

This is crushing and exactly the news I was afraid of when we did not hear from him since just after Xmas. He was so incredibly helpful to me. And in his way, he did it with enthusiasm. I always wanted to repay Ralph for all the help he gave me over the years knowing I never could. Then his Dakota was robbed here a couple months ago while taking his wife to the doctor. They cleaned out many of his tools. It was then I insisted on helping him out by sending him an angle grinder. He really resisted because that's just who he was. But I insisted and I ended up getting my way. I bantered with Ralph a number of times on private messaging. At least he knew I appreciated his help.
Oh, Geez. He will be so missed! It will never be the same. Rest in peace, my friend. Rest in peace!

I'd get goofy once in awhile and think I should will my Dakota to Ralph. Any family member I have would just run it into the ground or sell it for beer money. It would be in the scrap yard in no time. I want to give my Dakota to someone I know who would appreciate it and take care of it. Who better than Ralph!
