Car Crashed into Me and Insurance Co. probably will total my '91 Dakota - advice?
To live is to strive; i know that's right. I just checked here and apparently it's up to the ins. co. how the title works out? the tag office just told me they do not accept salvage titles so it's a wait and see on that.
Parting it out did cross my mind - good idea that. I'll let y'all know how it all turns out and try and keep my double chin up

Update:
This past friday, i finally got my hands on the accident report. The rookie cop responsible for writing up the report screwed it up so badly that i had to take it back. he had my name misspelled, he had my 91 dakota written as a 2021, all the street locations were very wrong, he had my truck in the right lane rather than the left, the map he'd drawn of the scene was wrong and in the section describing the other drivers actions before the wreck was left blank. I drew a map and brought it and the report back to him that same day. He came and sat down with me in the station lobby and made note of the corrections he intended to make. After his submitting the 'corrected' report - he still left out checking the box saying she ran a stop sign! now i'm supposed to report this to his Lt. and wait again for that bit to be added in. sheesh - i can't get a break over here

This is why I'm a firm believer in dash cams. I have one in both my drivers. I also put one in the GF's car and it paid off within a month when a woman ran a red light.
Ok; i'm still good - office ladys working at the road dept across the way saw the wreck(thank the Lord for smokers) and I could actually need them - i found out the other driver has already filed a claim for her damages.....based off of that screwed up police report! Whether it's on the report or not, those ladies can say what happened. The other driver's Alfa ins. claims adjuster is supposed to be calling me.
You can get cheapies from $25-30 and go from there. The one in my Mazda was nearly $150 but the one in my truck was about $25 several years ago. The one in the GF's car was about $60. The next one I buy will probably be a more upscale with front and rear views.
Definitely a good thing about a witness. Is the witness on the police report?
uh oh; not those witnesses are not listed. i kinda doubt it will come to that anyway. Yeah cameras like that are indeed inexpensive. i bought one for zoom meetings for 30bucks - HD and works well enough.
