A dedicated dash cam has an impact sensor to start recording. This is in addition to a manual recording button. The other insurance company may settle with you because of the witness.

The claims adjuster says he can get me $3700 and I get to keep my title as it is. The guy sounds like he's honestly trying to help me. He'll quote me later on how much I'll get from the bodily injury part of the policy. I was banged up quite a bit - and mentally? forgetaboutit
Of course i'd rather this never happened but now that it has, it could maybe work in my favor somehow - i'd love to stumble across another 91 dakota right about now

I had a similar experience back in '87. When they realized I wasn't going to get an ambulance chaser and rake them over the coals, the insurance company went out of their way to settle. It sounds like you won't be losing here. I think that witness was key to this. If you can find another, decent, Dakota, great. Otherwise, look for something else.

Oh, I sympathize with you. It's very sad. I've always been pissed off at impudent and aggressive drivers like the one who ran into you. I think he should pay compensation, at least for the broken front end. The insurance company should at least pay at least some money. Well, that's assuming it's a good company that cares about its clients. For example, I use youi.com.au. Recently, after my car was stolen, I could test their new car rental service after a theft. The bottom line is that the victim is given a Car Rental after theft for up to 14 days, included in the standard comprehensive car insurance package.

Thanks; I second that emotion! still waiting on my $3700 damage check and my check for personal injury. I need to hear from the medicaid subjigation dept. before that injury claim can proceed. There is a chance I'll get enough to have all or most of it fixe....if i can only find this body man i haven't seen in years.
I've been so wrapped up in getting my mom buryed and dealing with insane relative to even think about the truck.
She's in the ground now, rest her soul, so i can shift my focus back getting fairly compensated.

Sorry to hear about your mom. You can always replace a Dakota but you can never replace a mom. We get only one.

Yes! ain't that the truth. I really do miss her and glad we had nearly a year together with her at very proper nursing home. I've had time to start grieving since it wasn't sudden, so that was a blessing.I appreciate the condolance my friend. Blessing to you and yours.

It's always a wrench when you lose a parent. My mother was very happy for the 5 years she was in a really good nursing home. Not to sound ghoulish but I prayed that when it came time for her to leave, that she'd take a nap and keep on going. That's what happened. I did have to sell the car I bought to take her and her wheel chair around as each time I opened the trunk, I was looking for her chair. It's gets better. Mom's been gone 10 years now and I still miss her, but life goes on.
