Default 1987 engine swap questions....

I can get an 1987 Dakota for $200.00. It needs a starter cause all it does is click... and all the smog junk has been yanked from the motor. Different people tell me different things about the trans. how hard is it to put in a 318 with a 727 trans? carb would be great.... less computer junk the better. will the gauges work?

dont quote me on it but i dont think the engine bay was made big enough to accept a v8 until 93 or 94, in which case you would be unable to fit a v8 into your truck, im not 100% somebody check me on it, but i think they had to elongate the nose to fit the 8 cylinder into it in the early 90s

My understandings are that you need to run a pusher style fan, and ud have to relocate the tailshaft mount for the trans. Also would need a shorter driveshaft.
