Default i have an odd headlight issue

the headlights are dead, so are the tail lights, dash lightsand brake lights. If you have the door open and key in the switch the buzzer buzzes, but if you it the brakes, head light switch or high beam switch it stops. If the key is on and motor off, the abs and brake light are off, but if you hit the brake they come on. Dont rember if the head light switch had any effect. Now here is the odd part. with th motor runnin, if you pull out the light switch, when you push it in the tach jumps downward and back. If you rev the motor some and pull the light switch the tach sticks until you turnthe headlight switchoff. If you pull the headlight switch and then rev the tach wont move. Same with the brake pedal, mash it and rev the motor the tach wont move. Rev the motor then press brake the tach sticks until you release the brakes. The flashers work, and continue to blink even when the brake is pressed. the first symptom noticed was the abs light coming on every now an then. So where do i start lookin?? I am clueless????

later!! chris

Have you checked all of your ground wires. If you don't find anything there try the bulkhead connector where the wireharness plugs into the fire wall . That is where most of my problems were on my truck. GOOD LUCK

I would also say you have a loose ground point .In a ground loop a high curret device will over power a working low current device when the ground point is two weak to support the two. Every thing in my truck worked untill I turned on the blower. Then the dash lights would go out untill I turned off the blower and cycled the key off and on .Turned out I had not tightened the bolt on the colum that had ground wire on it.
