You should prolly rethink your approach. Blocks are not the best route, and certainly not a 4" block. There are many Dakota owners that have broken blocks very quickly and that makes for a dangerous situation. Belltech sells some good drop stuff for the Dakotas. Its 450 bux from summit, and thats drop spindles in the front for 2" and a nice shackle/hanger kit for the rear for a 4" drop. Using the spindles you wont change your suspension geometry and wont need an alignment, and the shackle hanger kit is the safest, nicest ride available for the Dakotas.

Its up to you, but most members wont recomend using a block bigger then 2"
Good Luck =)

ya, a 4" block is waay to big. I got a 3" block on my 88 and I get axle wrap with that. I wouldnt go any bigger then a 2" block on a DD.

I ran 4 inch blosk on my truck and havent ever had any problems. And it drives great. I couldnt get the arms out from the frame to take out the springs and cut them down for the front so I just torched them to drop. Not the best way but for the time being it works. Worst case sceniaro is the springs break and you have to replace them, which you would do with lower springs. But yah 2 inch blosk with longer shackels would work better in theory but no problems with my 4 in blocks, they are steel btw not aluminum.

You can make you own shackels easliy just but the steel and drill the holes, just make sure the holes are all even. Usually cost about $20.
